3 reasons to buy leather furniture
Leather furniture is not only stylish, it offers a practical comfort that can’t be beat!
Leather has unique, natural properties that make it simply superior to other materials when it comes to upholstery.
What makes it so special?
Well, leather won’t rip or tear along the seams like other fabrics. During the dying process, the natural colours of leather will be absorbed, so they will not fade or rub off. Leather retains its shape, doesn’t crack or peel, and stretches when pushed instead of breaking. It’s also fireproof, and does not give off any toxic or dangerous fumes.
Leather has been used for centuries, and for good reason. It’s extremely comfortable, quickly matching body temperature so it becomes like a second skin. Leather is designed to age well, and doesn’t break, but instead marks, giving it its own unique and distinctive look. Each piece of leather has its own story, its own character.
Genuine leather furniture from Mebel
There are two types of leather grade; top grain & split. Cowhides need to be split into two layers because they are too thick to be used as they are. The top grain is the layer from the surface, and is the toughest. And while it may be the most durable, it is also the softest part of the hide.
We only use the finest grades when it comes to our leather lounge suites. We never use split leather, and this is very important to us. Split leather is the second layer of the hide and is less robust. The fibres that make up split leather run in one direction, making it less durable, leaving it open to cracking or tearing. This is why we never use split leather for our leather lounge suites.
